Welcome, Facilitators: Your Movement Community Cheat Sheet
Start Here.
Welcome. This page is designed to serve as your central, easy-to-reference guide as you prepare to lead your Movement Community. (We recommend bookmarking it in your browser!)
While the Digital Facilitator Roadmap (hosted in Mighty Networks - we’ll share this with you at the kick-off) remains the home for in-depth content, trainings, and resources, this page offers a high-level orientation to help you quickly find what you need, when you need it. Think of it as a companion to the Roadmap.
Below, you’ll find:
Key Resources — including access to the Digital Facilitator Roadmap for deeper exploration
Getting Started — essential details to help us support you and set up your Movement Community
What’s Ahead — a preview of the overall timeline and what to expect
Recruitment (just a peek!) — an overview of how recruitment works and how we’ll support you
You don’t need to move through everything at once. We’ll continue to guide you throughout the process and will let you know when specific resources become most relevant.
We’re grateful to be moving alongside you.

We will update this section as we share resources with you. Stay tuned!
Getting Started
Below you’ll find key information and next steps as you begin preparing to lead your Movement Community.
1) Facilitator Kickoff Call
Our cohort kickoff call is on Wednesday, January 22 at 5:00 PM PT / 8:00 PM ET. You should have a calendar invite — if not, please let us know. During this call, you’ll meet your cohort and get oriented to recruitment and next steps.
2) What We Need From You Before Kickoff
Below, you’ll find a table of key details to consider as you shape your Movement Community (type of loss, movement, dates, location). After reviewing this information, please complete the Key Details Form. (The sooner the better!)
3) Why These Details Matter
Having these details outlined in advance helps us:
Build your personalized Movement Community event page (see example here)
Make sure you’re ready to start recruiting after the kick-off call
If any big questions come up while you’re working through this, please don’t hesitate to reach out — we’re here to support you.

A Preview Of What We’ll Move Through Together
Below is a quick preview of the journey ahead. Launching a Movement Community takes time and intention, and you won’t be doing it alone. This roadmap offers a high-level look at the stages we’ll move through together — from kickoff and recruitment to training, support, and the start of your group.
We’ll walk through each stage in more detail during our kickoff call, and we’ll be here to support you every step of the way.
Something Else To Keep On Your Radar
This spring, E-Motion has an exciting opportunity to partner with Boston Children’s Hospital on an optional research study connected to a Movement Community for bereaved parents.
As part of this work, we will be recruiting up to 30 bereaved parents who may choose to participate in a research study conducted by Boston Children’s Hospital. Participation is completely optional and will not impact someone’s ability to join or participate in a Movement Community. We’ll share more details and answer questions during our kickoff call.
Eligibility criteria:
Participants must be new to E-Motion
Participants must have experienced the death of a child age 25 or younger
We’ll cover all of this in more detail during our training. For now, this is simply a heads up for those of you who like to know what’s ahead.
As a Facilitator, you will play a central role in recruiting your Movement Community — with a goal of welcoming approximately 15–20 participants. Recruitment can take time, and you won’t be doing it alone.
E-Motion will support you throughout the recruitment process by providing:
Your personalized E-Motion Movement Community event page
Email templates and sample language for outreach
Recruitment guidance and strategy support
Additional assets and resources to help spread the word
While E-Motion provides the tools, structure, and support, Facilitators lead the recruitment efforts in their local communities. Together, we’ll work to build a group that feels aligned, supported, and ready to move together.
