Meet The Facilitator: Beth Peters
Beth is a trained End-of-Life Doula and Human Resources consultant who has lived and worked in the Burlington Area for 30+ years. After the unexpected passing of her father in 2023, soul searching led Beth to the doula course through UVM. In late 2025 both Beth’s mother and grandmother passed away. They lived together, she had been the primary care coordinator and healthcare advocate for both of them over the course of several years, and navigated that largely long-distance between Vermont and Maine. From these experiences Beth developed a conviction that she would somehow help identify and develop solutions for those in similar situations. This led to Beth becoming a Community Care Provider for Tuktu Care, an organization new to the Burlington area that focuses on community-powered care by providing on-demand support for seniors and family caregivers. This, and her discovery of the E-Motion Community, are two ways that Beth has committed to helping others navigate the challenges that face many of us today. Afterall, we need to look out for each other, both in life and as we ride the waves of grief.Beth Peters, E-Motion Volunteer Facilitator
The Movement Community Experience
The Movement Community is a free 8-week, in-person group experience for people who are living with a life-disrupting loss of a person. It combines movement—like walking, hiking, or biking—with intentional grief support, held in community with others who get it. Each group includes 15–20 grievers and is guided by a trained E-Motion Facilitator. The group meets weekly, and participants are expected to attend 80% of gatherings.

“Joining a movement community was like catching a wave. Like instead of treading water, I was catching a wave with all these other people and it completely changed my grieving experience.”
About E-Motion Inc.
